The Lohian Khas police have arrested Joly
a resident of Tahli village under Nakodar Sadar police station for dowry harassment.
Joti daughter of Parkash Singh a resident of Seeche Wal village and the wife of Joly had complained to the police that she was being tortured for dowry ever since her marriage in 2023 and beaten by in-laws.
Investigating officer Harwindar Singh said a case under section 85(torturing woman for dowry) 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 3(5) (committing a crime with common intention) of the BNS was registered against the accused and his parents.
