NCC cadets of the Senior Division of NCC Group Jalandhar are undergoing 12 days of military training with the Artillery Regiment at Jalandhar Cantonment. The cadets are learning the daily routine and responsibilities of a soldier. The cadets visited the Sikh Light Infantry Battalion and learned about their lethal weapons and understood their firepower. They saw various guns of the Artillery Regiment. The cadets saw Chetak, Cheetah, and Dhruv helicopters in the Aviation Regiment and understood the military responsibilities of reconnaissance, medical, war, and disaster management. The cadets learned about various mines, barrier devices, and the major responsibilities of the army in war and disaster management in the Engineer Regiment. The cadets also learnt how to assemble and disassemble modern military weapons. Lieutenant (Dr.) Karanbir Singh from Lyallpur Khalsa College attached with the cadets said that this camp is very thrilling and full of military information. We have come to know the modern army closely. All the NCC cadets are very eager to get commissioned in the army in the coming months. The cadets learned the history of various regiments, their organization, working system and team spirit. The cadets prayed at the Sarva Dharm Sthal and imbibed the teachings of nation above religion. The cadets said that we got to learn a lot here. The nation is supreme above the individual and society. Every citizen should learn this from the Indian Army. Colonel Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer 2 Punjab NCC Battalion said that NCC organizes seventeen types of camps every year in the country and the camp with military regiments is the most thrilling, full of curiosity and filled with patriotism. Lieutenant (Dr.) Karanbir Singh and Havildar Ajay Kumar have been posted with the cadets for coordination between the regiments. The cadets expressed their gratitude to the Artillery Regiment for the excellent food and military training.
