The Shahkot police have arrested a Ludhiana resident(juvenile) on the charge of kidnapping and extortion
Investigating officer (IO) Sulindar Singh said the accused had been identified as Sundar Singh alias Jashan Singh son of Gurdev Singh a resident of Haidar Nagar under Kum Kalan police station in Ludhiana.
Jagtar Singh a resident of Bahmanai village had complained to the police that the accused and his elder brother and their unidentified accomplices had kidnapped his brother Jagjit Singh (50) on November 30, 2024, kept him in their illegal custody, and forced him to pay Rs 1.92 Lakh.
IO said a case under sections 140(3) (kidnapping with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person ) and 308(4) (putting a person in fear of death or grievous injury to commit extortion )of the BNS and section 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused, his brother, and their unidentified accomplices.
