The Cybercrime police station Jalandhar Rural has booked an unidentified miscreant for duping a villager of Rs.75000 to secure a VIP registration number.
Gurdeep Singh a resident of Taggar village under Nurmahal police station complained to the police that an unidentified accused duped him of Rs 75000 by promising to secure a VIP registration number on the phone.
The investigating officer Inspector Arash Deep Kaur said a case under sections 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 66-D of the Information Technology Act has been registered against the unidentified accused.
