The Nakodar city police have booked two members of an in-law’s family in the dowry harassment case.
Investigating officer Rajindar Kumar said that the accused have been identified as Harman Preet Singh, a Mohalla Sundar Nagar Nakodar resident, and his mother Surjit Kaur.
Simran Kaur, a resident of Sohal Khurd village, had filed a complaint to the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that she was mentally harassed demanding more and more dowry. The Investigating Officer said a case under section 85 (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
