The Nakodar Sar police have arrested a woman traveling for duping a Nakodar woman of Rs.9.85 lakhs on the pretext of sending her husband abroad.
The Investigating officer (IO) and Shankar police post in charge Lovleen Kumar h said that the accused has been identified as Kiran Bansal daughter of Ramesh Lal a resident of Subash Nagar, Banga in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district.
The investigating officer said that Seema, the wife of Jaswinder Kumar, a resident of Tahli village, had complained to the Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police that she paid Rs 9.85 lakhs to the accused for facilitating her husband's migration to Canada, but the accused did not send him abroad and did not return the money.
IO said that a case under section 406 (breach of trust). 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy), of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), were registered against the accused and Kuldeep Singh’s son of Kashmir Singh a resident of Tahli village, and his wife Jasvir Kaur.
