NAKODAR
The Nakodar City police have arrested an absconding member of the notorious Ankush Bhaya Gang which was busted in September with arresting its seven members.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh and Station House Officer (SHO) Aman Saini said the accused has been identified as Karan alias Karan Sabharwal alias Kannu, son of Surinder Kumar, resident of Rishi Nagar, Nakodar.
SSP said this gang was linked to major criminal syndicates including Vikram Brar, Goldy Brar, Rinda Baba, and Ravi Balachoria.
Khakh said the gang ringleader Ankush Sabharwal alias Bhaya, son of Ramesh Kumar, resident of Mohalla Rishi Nagar, Nakodar was arrested in September along with his six accomplices adding that Ankush Bhaya was linked to overseas criminal Lovepreet Singh alias Ladi and jailed gangster Ravi Balachoria, who was accused of planning to kill rival gang members in Hoshiarpur and two individuals in Nakodar and Shahkot.
SHO said a case under sections 310(4) 310(5) (assembly and preparation for committing robbery ),111(organized crime), 61(2)(criminal conspiracy) of the BNS, sections 25(6), 25(7), 25(8,), 25(1), 22(C), 29, 25-61-85 of the NDPS Act.25, 54, and sections 25//54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused adding that some more members of this gang are absconding and raid are being made to arrest them.
