Jalandhar rural police on early Sunday carried out a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the notorious Ganna Pind village under Phillaur police station and arrested five persons including a woman smuggler with contraband
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) HPS Khakh said the police had received inputs of drug peddling in the village cordoned off the entire village and systematically conducted drug searches.
SSP said the police arrested notorious woman smuggler Kashmir Kaur, wife of Naseeb Chand, wanted in a case under sections 21/29-61-85 of the NDPS Act at Phillaur Police Station.
The police also arrested drug peddlers Rohan Kumar alias Shekhu alias Buddi, son of Raj Kumar, with 12 grams of heroin, and Niner alias Morni) wife of Surjit Kumar with 150 intoxicant tablets.
The police also arrested drug peddler Jatindar Kumar son of Chamman Lal and Davinder Kumar alias Mota son of Tek Chand residents of Lassara village with 150 intoxicant tablets during the operation led by Phillaur DSP Swaran Singh Bal.
SSP said three cases under sections of the NDPS Act have been registered against the accused at Phillaur
SSP said the citizens can share information about drug trafficking with Jalandhar rural police and strict confidentiality will be maintained,
