Punjab Governor distributes degrees to NIT students in Jalandhar

Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria today presided over the 20th convocation of NIT Jalandhar wherein 1293 students were awarded the degrees. This included PG Diploma-01, B Tech -990, M Tech- 144, MSc -84, MBA- 24 and PhD -50. Shreya (Bio-Technology), Shuchi Gupta (Chemical Engineering), Jiya Garg (Civil Engineering), Gunika (Computer Science & Engineering), Raghav Gupta (Electrical Engineering), Preeti (Electronics and Communication Engineering), Arshita Katal (Industrial and Production Engineering), Puneet Singh (Information Technology), Chakshan Dhir (Instrumentation and Control Engineering), Radha Mohan Sharma (Mechanical Engineering), and Anshika Rajput (Textile Technology), were awarded Gold Medal for being the B. Tech 2020-2024 batch branch toppers. Gunika from Computer Science & Engineering was awarded with Overall Topper of B. Tech 2020-2024 batch with a CGPA-9.55. Rakshita Mehta (Bio-Technology), Simrandeep Kaur (Computer Science & Engineering), Pintu Kumar Saini (Computer Science & Engineering- Information Security), Smriti Sharma (Electronics and Communication Engineering), Shah Bhushit Mitesh Kumar (VLSI Design), Pooja Sheshama (Instrumentation and Control Engineering), Sumit Kushwah (Design Engineering), Aiman Parvaiz (Geo-technical and Geo-environmental engineering), Noohi Khan(Structural and Construction Engineering), Anshika Singh (Thermal Engineering), Reena Yadav (Textile Engineering and Management) were awarded with Gold Medal for being the M. Tech 2022-2024 batch branch toppers. From M.Sc. Lavanya Singh Malik (Chemistry), Akshar Dineshbhai Vasiyani (Mathematics), Sameer Jain (Physics) and Jasmeen Kaur (MBA) were awarded with gold medal for achieving first position in their respective branch. The recipients were awarded degrees by the Hon’ble Chief Guest who congratulated the students on this milestone achieved in their lives. The  Governor also laid the foundation stone for the Electrical Engineering Block of the institute, funded through HEFA under a grant of Rs. 240 crores.

Governor Gulab Chand Kataria motivated the young graduating students to work harder in life and achieve greater heights. He congratulated the parents and teachers for their support, commitment, and passion in moulding them. He inspired students to serve and care for their parents and also contribute meaningfully to the development and progress of the nation. He emphasized the importance of being responsible citizens and better human beings who actively work towards the betterment of society.

On this occasion, the Chairman, Board of Governors, and Director, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanujia congratulated the degree recipients for their bright future and also motivated them to work day and night to fulfill societal needs. reach $350 billion by 2026.
