In a breakthrough against the international drug trafficking network, the Jalandhar Rural Police have arrested a Tanzanian national and recovered 184 grams of heroin during a special operation in Adampur on Thursday.
The arrested accused has been identified as Padiva Nimte Bhayal Labh Khairaty Fabian Semwija, daughter of Rocky Fabian, a resident of Kaliko Police Station Muchinga, Tanzania. She was currently residing in Tughlakabad Extension, Delhi.
Senior Superintendent of Police Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh told median that the operation was part of an ongoing drive against drug trafficking in the district. "Our teams are working round the clock to identify and dismantle drug trafficking networks operating in the region," he said.
The operation was executed under the supervision of SP Investigation Jasroop Kaur, DSP Adampur Kulwant Singh , and Inspector Ravinder Pal Singh, SHO Adampur. SHO Adampur with his team led the police team that made the arrest.
During routine patrolling near Prime City Chuharwali in Adampur, the police team spotted a woman behaving suspiciously. Upon noticing the police presence, she attempted to discard a packet into nearby grass, which was promptly recovered by women police personnel accompanying the team.
