The Bilga police have arrested a villager for violating an order duly promulgated by a public servant by burning paddy stubble fields.
Investigating Officer (IO)Dalvawa Singh said
the suspect has been identified as Kuldeep Singh a resident of Kayam Wala village under Mehat Pur police station.
IO said the police received reports on paddy burning fields in Talwann village and inquired about the owner and cultivator from the cluster officer who verified the suspect violating an order by the Jalandhar deputy commissioner.
IO said cases under section 223 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the BNS have been registered against the suspect who was released on bail.
