The Mehat Pur police have booked two villagers for violating an order duly promulgated by a public servant by burning paddy stubble fields.
Investigating Officer (IO)Jaspal Singh said
the suspects have been identified as Piara Singh a resident of Gounsu Wal village and Ranjit Singh a resident of Singh Pur Bet village.
IO said the police received reports on paddy burning fields in Gounsu Wal and Singh Pur villages an They reached the spot and saw paddy stubble burning fields. They inquired about the owner and cultivator from prominent persons and circle revenue patwaris verified the suspect violating an order by the Jalandhar deputy commissioner.
IO said cases under section 223 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the BNS have been registered against the suspects.
The Shahkot police booked Swaran Singh a resident of Bahmannia village for burring paddy stubble fields in his village said IO Balbir Chand.
The police also booked an unidentified suspect for burring paddy stubble files in Kania Khurd village.
The Lohian Khas police also booked three unidentified suspects for burning paddy stubble fields in Mohalla Dhumanna, Makhi village, and Jania Chahal villages said SHO Yadwindar Singh.
