Two travel agents booked for duping Nakodar villager   of Rs 58.15 Lakhs

 

NAKODAR

 The Nakodar city police have booked two travel agents for allegedly duping a Nakoda villager of Rs.58.15 lakhs on the pretext of sending him and his family abroad.

Investigating officer (IO) Rajindar Pal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Harwindar Singh son of Jagir Singh a resident of Chak Kalan village and Balwindar Singh Bhatia son of Ashok Singh a resident of Pasham Vihar, Delhi.

Hardev Singh a resident of Ramu Wal village under Mehat Pur police station complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he paid Rs 58.15 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his and his family's migration abroad but he nor his family was not sent abroad nor returned the money.

 

IO said that a case under sections 318(4) (cheating), and 316(2) (criminal breach of trust ) of the BNS  and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act has been registered against the accused.
