The Mehat Pur police have arrested a villager for violating an order duly promulgated by a public servant by burning paddy stubble fields.
Investigating Officer (IO) Davindar Singh said
the suspect had been identified as Harjit Singh, son of Harbhajan a resident of Lohgarh village.
IO said the police received a WhatsApp image of burning paddy stubble fields in Aadramann village and reached the spot and sought a report from the circle revenue patwari about ownership of land which verified the records d and identified the suspect who was burring stubble fields violating an order by the Jalandhar deputy commissioner.
IO said a case under section 223 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the BNS has been registered against the suspect who was released on bail.

The Lohian Khas and Bilga police booked unidentified persons for burning paddy stubble fields in Nawan Pind Khale Wal village, Behlol Pur village said IO’s Balkar Singh, Avtar Singh, and Dalwara Singh .
