The Mehat Pur police have arrested a villager for violating an order duly promulgated by a public servant by burning paddy stubble fields.
Investigating Officer (IO) Harwindar Singh said
the suspect had been identified as Sukhdev Singh son of Darshan Singh, a resident of Singh Pur Bet village.
IO said the police received a WhatsApp image of burning paddy stubble fields in Baloki village and reached the spot and found the suspect burring stubble field violating an order by the Jalandhar deputy commissioner.
IO said a case under section 223 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the BNS has been registered against the suspect who was released on bail.
The Lohian Khas police booked an unidentified person for burning paddy stubble fields in Sidhu Pur village said IO Avtar Singh.
