NAKODAR
The Nakodar City police have arrested a bus driver on the charge of causing death by negligence.
Investigating Officer (IO) Dilbag Singh said that the accused has been identified as Jagsheer Singh son of Jeet Singh a resident of Khapian Wali village under Mukat Sar Sadar police station.
Hardev Singh a resident of Mohalla Gahrriyan Nakodar had complained to the police that he was the owner of a shop on Jalandhar Road and on October 19 at around a bus (PB-08-BZ--4151) of the Kartar Bus Company stopped for deboarding passengers. The accused driver started his vehicle and drove negligently crushing to death an old age woman crossing the road.
Investigating Officer Dilbag Singh said that a case under section 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS was registered against the accused driver.
