The Bilga police have booked Raman Kumar a resident of Santokh Pura, Jalandhar city in a dowry harassment case.
Complainant Palka a resident of Aujla village had filed a complaint to the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband and his family had been harassing her and demanding more and more dowry since her marriage.
Investigating Officer Dilawar Singh said a case under sections 406 (breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry adding that the incident occurred in the past and case has been registered under sections of the IPC.
