The Nurmahal police have arrested two persons on charges of kidnapping and rioting.
Station house officer (SHO) Aman Saini said the accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Saabi son of Gurdeep Singh and Sukhwindar Pal son of Sant Ram residents of Maulli village under Satnam Pura police station Phagwara.
Lakhwindar Kaur wife of Harbans La a resident of Mohalla Ravi Dass Pura complained to the police that the accused and their accomplices attacked her husband at his shop kidnapped him and threw him after a few hours on the road in serious condition.
She said her husband had some altercation with the wife of the accused Rakesh Kumar at his ayurvedic chemist shop in their Mohalla where he had gone for blood pressure medicine which was the reason behind the attack on her husband.
The SHO said that a case under sections 140 (3) (kidnapping with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person ) 127(1) (wrongful confinement ) 115(2)(voluntarily causing hurt )190( committing a crime with common intention ) and 191(3) (rioting) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and Pawan Kumar a resident of Maulli village, Varindar Kumar a resident of Nure Wal village under Phillaur police station and their thre unidentified accomplice's and further investigation is on.
