On Monday, the Lohian Khas police claimed to have busted a gang of robbers and arrested its five members.
Station House Officer (SHO) Yadwindar Singh that the accused have been identified as Jeeta son of Harnek Singh a resident of Kang Kalan village, Sunni son of Jagdish Ram, Harpreet Singh alias Happy son of Balwindar Singh both residents of Khoas village and Gursharan Singh alias Sharna son of Gurpreet Singh a resident of Talwandi Salem village under Nakodar Sadar police station and Rohit son of Baljit Singh resident of Sultan Pur Lodhi in Kapurthala
SHO said the accused were planning to commit a robbery when the police raided Kara Ram Singh railway under the bridge and arrested them. One country-made pistol, one toy pistol, and two motorcycles (one with a registration number) were recovered from their possession.
SHO said a case under sections 310(4) 310(5) (making preparation and assembly for purpose of committing dacoity) of the BNS and 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused
