Travel agent arrested for duping man of Rs.2.70   lakhs

 

NAKODAR

 The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a travel agent for duping a man of Rs 2.70 lakhs on the pretext of sending his son abroad.

 The instigating officer IO) Major Singh Virk that the accused has been identified as Ramesh Kumar alias Mesha son of Balbir Singh a resident of Malluwal village under Mehat Pur police station.

Kechal Chand a resident of Bhodi Pur village had complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that he had paid Rs 2.70 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his son’s migration abroad. However, neither did he was sent abroad, nor did he return the money.

 

 

IO said a case under sections 420 (cheating) and 406(breach of trust) of the IPC and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act was registered against the accused who was released on bail.
