The Nakodar Sadar police have booked three persons on the charges of criminal trespass, conspiracy, and intimidation charges.
Investigating officer (IO) Major Singh said that the accused had been identified as Gurmail Singh a resident of Ranndhir Pur village in Kapurthala, his son Davindar Singh, and their servant Sunil also of the same village.
Paramjit Singh a resident of Bhodi Pur village complained to the Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) that the accused ploughed a water channel and pathway leading to agricultural land in his possession despite a stay order issued by a court in this regard on July 23, 2024, and threatened him with dire consequences.
IO said DSP inquired and submitted his report to the Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of police who sought legal opinion from the district attorney on the report submitted by DSP and ordered registration of the case against the accused and investigate
Major Singh said a case under sections 329(2) (criminal trespass) 61(2) (criminal conspiracy and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the B.N.S. has been registered against the accused.
