The Shahkot police have arrested an AAP leader’s gunman and his wife and mother-in-law on charges of abetting the suicide of a co-villager.
Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Onkar Singh Brar said that the accused gunman has been identified as Raman Kumar son of Raseed Kumar a resident of Budhann Wal village and his wife Kuldeep Kaur alias Joti and his mother-in-law Parkash Kaur wife of Harbans Singh a resident of Bangi Wal village under Mehat Pur police station.
DSP said Raman Kumar is attached as a gunman with AAP leader Parwinder Singh Pandori who oversees the Shahkot constituency.
Kewal a resident of Budhann Wal village complained to the police that the accused had filed a false police complaint against his son Gurwinder Singh who was physically and mentally tortured in the police station which led his son to commit suicide on September 19 night and hanged himself in his room.
DSP said that a case under section 108(abetment of suicide) of the B.N.S has been registered against the accused.
SHO Aman Saini said the body of the deceased was handed over to the family after a post-mortem.
