Three villagers booked for murdering co-villager

The Lohian Khas police have booked three villagers on the charge of murdering their co-villager.

Station House Officer (SHO) Labh Singh said that the accused have been identified as Dilbag Singh alias Baga son of Ujagar Singh, Gurjit Singh son of Swaran Singh, and Tejpal Singh son of Sulakhann Sing all residents of Badshah Pur village.

SHO said the accused murdered their co-villager Harpreet Singh (55) a daily wage worker.

Baldieeh Kaur daughter of Harpreet Singh a resident of Badshah Pur complained to the police that his father went to attend a meeting of villager elders at commonplace on September 17 late evening.

She said her father came back home around 10.30 PM and he was badly detrended in blood and told the family that the three accused attacked him with bamboo sticks and clubs at the meeting point and seriously injured him.

Baldeesh Kaur said the family gave possible first-aid to her father who went to sleep while crying adding that when she went to give tea to his father in the early morning he was no more and had breathed his last in the night succumbing to his injuries.

She said her father died due to beating by the accused who attacked intending to kill as they did not like Harpreet Singh sitting at the commonplace.

 

SHO said a case under sections 103(murder) and 3(5) (committing the crime with common intention) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to nab them.
