The Lohian Khas police have arrested two persons and booked five others including a woman on the charges of attempting to murder a villager.
Investigating officer (IO) Prem Lal said that the arrested accused had been identified as Gurwindar Singh a resident of Mandir Kalan village in Moga and Vishal a resident of Deepe Wal village in Kaputhala. He said the booked accused had been identified as Krishna daughter of Lakhwindar Singh of Mandir Kalan village, Arash, another Arash both residents of Deepe Wal village, and their two unidentified accomplices.
Gurpreet Singh a resident of Warra Kali village in Feroze Pur village e complained to the police that the accused attacked him with sharp-edged weapons to kill and seriously injure and threatened him on September 9 at Lohian Khas.
The complainant said Krishna instigated her brother Gurwinder to attack him as she quarreled with him on September 13 during a bus journey to Lohian Khas and Gurwinder organized an attack.
IO said a case under sectio109(attempt to murder) 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) 191(3) (unlawful assembly), and 190(rioting) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
