The Nakodar Sadar police have booked six including a woman on the charge of assaulting a couple.
Investigating officer (IO) Harjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Ranni wife of Makhan a resident of Thablke village and Kaku of the same village and Babu, his sons Sharif and Mango residents of Samrai village under Jalandhar Sadar police station, and Nurdeen also of the same village.
Shaukat Ali a resident of Thablke village complained to the police that he along with his wife Asha was grazing their cattle in village plots on August 23 when the accused attacked them with weapons and injured them.
IO said a case under sections 115(2),117(2) 118(2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) 191(3)(rioting ), and 190( any member of unlawful assembly ) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
