Punjab Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh and Chairman Punjab Safai Karamchari Commission Chandan Grewal on Sunday said that the Punjab Government would make foolproof arrangements for the upcoming Shobha Yatra on October 16, which will mark Bhagwan Valmiki Ji's Pargat Utsav.
Presiding over a meeting with different religious organizations to review the arrangements for the Shobha Yatra here , they said that elaborate arrangements would be made to ensure that people could participate in the Shobha Yatra with full religious gaiety and enthusiasm. They said that no stone would be left unturned for making this event a huge success. They also asked the people to participate in the Shobha Yatra with full religious fervour.
The Minister said that requisite arrangements would be made for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements, route planning, and other facilities during the Shobha Yatra, so that pilgrims do not face any sort of problem. He mentioned that a separate meeting will be held with civil and police administration for proper arrangements of this event. He stated that the Pargat Utsav of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji will be celebrated with religious fervour and festivities and Government will make foolproof arrangements for this mega event. He also annouced a grant worth Rs. Two lakhs from his discretionary funds for holding this event smoothly. The minister urged the people to follow the path shown by Bhagwan Valmiki Ji for creating egalitarian society. He also lauded the efforts of various organizations who work hard every year to celebrate pargat utsav in a unsurpassable manner. He reiterated that all the suggestions of religious organizations will be implemented in letter and spirit.
