The Mehat Pur police have arrested a resident on the charges of kidnapping a minor girl and inducing her to compel her marriage.
Investigating officer (IO) Avtar Singh said the accused had been identified as Rahul Kumar son of Som Nath h, a resident of Jhugian Khude Road Mehat Pur .
The Father of the victim had complained to the police that the accused kidnapped his minor daughter inducing her on the pretext of marriage.
IO said that a case under sections 137(2) (kidnapping) and 96 (procuration of the child) of the B.N.S was registered against the accused.
