The Cyber Crime police station of Punjab police has booked three persons including two NRI’s on the charge of misusing social media.
Investigating Officer (IO) Inspector Harbir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Sukhwindar Singh Chandi a resident of Safi Pur Chak village in Ludhiana and presently living in Canada, Davindar Singh of Mohalla Khurm Pur Mehat Pur town and presently living in Canada and Sharanjit Singh a resident of Mohalla Khuram Pur , Mehat Pur.
Lakhwindar Singh a resident of Ward 10, Mehat Pur complained to the police that the accused used the wrong words against him on Facebook and created the wrong image which damaged his personality in society.
IO said a case under section 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the B.N.S and section 66-D of Information Technology -2000 has been registered against the accused.
