The Lohian Khas police have arrested a villager on the charges of attempt to murder and rioting.
The investigating officer (IO) Govindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Baljindar Singh alias Noni son of Darshan Singh a resident of Sindharr village.
Viki a resident of Kang Khurd village had complained to the police that he and his brothers Rannjit Singh and Suraj Singh were going to Lohian on motorcycles on the August 18 afternoon when the accused and his accomplices waylaid his brothers near Nawan Pind Khale Wal attacked them intending to kill and seriously injured them. He said the accused also tried to attack him but he somehow escaped.
IO said a case under sections 109 (attempt to murder) 351(2) (criminal intimidation) 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means),126(2) (wrongful restraint) ) 190(3) (unlawful assembly ) 190 (rioting) of the B.N.S . was registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to arrest six absconding accused.
