Punjab Police partners with Study Academy to provide coaching for UPSC exams

JALANDHAR

The Punjab police have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the  IAS Study Group, Chandigarh. The agreement was formalized by M.F. Farooqui ADGP, PAP, and Raj Malhotra, Director of the IAS Study Group, during a ceremony held at the PAP Campus in Jalandhar.

Speaking on the occasion, M.F. Farooqui said that the collaboration aims to provide high-quality IAS, PCS, and allied services coaching to the wards of Punjab Police personnel at significantly reduced rates. He further stated that the coaching center, to be inaugurated within the PAP Campus, will offer a total course fee of Rs. 1,40,000. However, for police personnel's children, there will be substantial discounts: a 50% reduction for families of officers up to the rank of Inspector, bringing the fee down to Rs. 70,000, and a 40% discount for the wards of DSP and higher-ranking officers.

The families of police martyrs will receive 100% fee waivers, allowing their children to access the coaching free of charge, he said, adding that this initiative reflects the department’s commitment to honouring the sacrifices made by these families.

Additionally, the fee can be paid in three installments over six months, with no further payment required if the candidate does not secure a selection.

Tthe MOU includes a 50% scholarship provision for academically deserving candidates who face financial difficulties, facilitated by the NGO "Joy of Guidance." This ensures that meritorious students from economically challenged backgrounds can also benefit from this coaching.

The ADGP also said that private individuals can also avail of the coaching services within the PAP Campus at a 10% discount. Furthermore, 10% of the fee paid by non-police families will be contributed back to PAP as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The coaching classes will be held six days a week from 3-5 PM at the Regional Training Centre (RTC) inside the PAP Battalion, Jalandhar, with timing adjustments as necessary to accommodate any unforeseen circumstances.

The signing ceremony was attended by several senior police officers, including DIG/Admin. PAP Inderbir Singh, DIG PAP-II Rajpal Singh Sandhu,  and SP Mandeep Singh among others.
