JALANDHAR:
Member Rajya Sabha Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal today had a meeting with the Regional Passport Officer Jalandhar Abhishek Sharma to discuss issues related to passport services for the people of the Doaba region.
He raised concerns about the difficulties faced by the residents of the region in obtaining passport services, particularly regarding the prompt issuance of Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs). During the meeting at the Regional Passport Office, Jalandhar, Sant Seechewal emphasized that many people from the Doaba region reside abroad and rely on the passport office for various services, therefore speedy disbursal of these services can provide relief to the public.
He also hailed the efforts of the passport office in reducing appointment delays in passport services. He also urged the Passport Office to play a more active role in bringing back youth, especially girls, who have been trapped abroad by fraudulent agents.
