Lohian villager arrested for brandishing firearm in public

The Lohian Khas police have arrested a villager on the charge of brandishing a firearm in public.

Investigating Officer (IO) Govindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Balwindar Singh alias Binda son of Chanann Singh a resident of Mehmu Wal Mahla village.

 

IO said that he along with a police party was manning a Naka at Mahla Village Adda when an SUV coming from Meda Village stopped near the Naka and the accused deboarded the vehicle by brandishing his double-barrel gun and was arrested.

 

 

IO said the accused violated orders issued by the home department and Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner against brandishing firearms in public places. A case under section 223(disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the B.N.S. has been registered against the accused.
