The Mehat Pur police have booked unidentified persons for illegal sand mining.
Charanjit Singh a resident of Aku Wal village under Shidhama Bet police station, Ludhiana complained to the police that unidentified persons excavated his 6 kanals of land very deep and stole sand.
Investigating Officer Avtar Singh said a case under Section 21 of the Mines Act and Section 303(2) (theft) of the BNS has been registered against the unidentified accused.
