Faridkot police on Monday claimed to have solved the case of murder of a Faridkot village man and arrested the wife of the victim,his lover and two other accomplices on the instructions of Pragya Jain,SSP Faridkot.
“The police had registered a case against Gagandeep Kaur, the wife of the victim on July 31 on the complaint of Labhjeet Kaur, the sister of the victim Jasmeet Singh alias Jassa, a resident of village Ghania, under police station Bajakhana. Gagandeep Kaur was already arrested by the police and during her interrogation, it had come to light that she had an extramarital relationship with one Karan Gill, a resident of Maheshri Sandhuan of Moga district,” said Jasmeet Singh,SP investigation addressing the media today.
He further said that during the interrogation of the main accused Karaan Gill, he confessed to the crime and admitted that two others,Lovepreet Singh and Harpeet Singh, also residents of Maheshri Sandhuan, off Moga were also involved in the crime.
“The police have arrested all the four accused now and a sharp edged weapon and purse of the victim have been recovered from the possession of the accused,” said Jasmeet Singh,SP investigation Faridkot.
Gagandeep kaur lived in his parents’ village Thamman of Moga district and she had a strained relationship with his husband.
The younger brother of the victim had also committed suicide alleegdly because of depression some time earlier.
The parents of the victim were already dead and he was living alone in his house.
The accused entered his house on the intervening night of July30/31 and murdered him with a sharp edged weapon.
