The Jandhar Rural Police have intensified its efforts against habitual offenders and drug smugglers, resulting in multiple arrests and significant seizures over the past 48 hours.
The arrested accused have been identified as Kuldeep alias Rickey, son of Gurdev, resident of Kala Bakra Bhogpur, and Jatinder, son of Sardari Lal, resident of Mohalla Bagwala Shahkot, Jalandhar.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said that these operations are part of a larger initiative to combat drug trafficking and organized crime in the region.
On August 7, a team led by Inspector Sikander Singh Virak, SHO Police Station Bhogpur, with his police party cornered Kuldeep alias Rickey who attempted to flee upon spotting the police at a police checkpoint. The search resulted in the seizure of 4.28 grams of heroin and 100 narcotic pills. Ricky has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at police station Bhogpur Jalandhar.
In a separate operation on the same day, a police team led by SHO Shahkot police station Aman Saini, , arrested Jatinder during a routine check in Mohalla Baghwala. Jatinder was found in possession of 105 narcotic pills, 140 capsules of pregabalin, and one black Hero Splendor motorcycle (Registration: PB-67-D-8877).
SSP Khakh said "Our focus is on habitual offenders who pose a persistent threat to society. We believe these arrests will disrupt local drug supply chains and lead to further breakthroughs in ongoing investigations."
