JALANDHAR
The Jalandhar Rural Police have successfully apprehended three proclaimed offenders, including one hiding in Himachal Pradesh. This targeted drive, launched by the Jalandhar Rural Police, marks a significant breakthrough in the pursuit of individuals wanted for heinous crimes.
Senior Superintendent of Police Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said the operation was meticulously executed under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Sumit Sood of Adampur Sub-Division. "Our reach extends beyond state boundaries when it comes to bringing Proclaimed offenders to justice," SSP Khakh emphasized.
One of the key arrests was Deepak, son of Shami alias Mantri, who had been evading authorities since 2022 in connection with an abetment to suicide case. Police sources confirmed that Deepak was traced to his hideout in Himachal Pradesh through intensive intelligence gathering.
Another significant arrest was that of Ukar Singh alias Kara, wanted in a 2016 case involving murder and arms act violations. Inspector Sikandar Singh, who led this operation, stated that Ukar Singh, declared a fugitive by the court, was apprehended on August 8 from Rahimpur village.
The third arrest involved Sahil, son of Jagtar Lal, wanted under the NDPS and Excise Acts. Inspector Ravinder Pal Singh, who spearheaded this arrest, confirmed that Sahil was caught from Sikandarpur.
SSP Khakh reiterated that the campaign against wanted criminals would continue unabated. "This operation demonstrates the commitment of Jalandhar Rural Police and capability to track down offenders, regardless of where they hide," he added.
The arrested accused will be produced in the local court and their remand will be taken to check their forward and backward linkage.
SSP Khakh sternly warning other fugitives, stating, "Let this serve as a clear message to all proclaimed offenders - there is no haven for criminals. Jalandhar rural police will pursue you relentlessly, across any border, and bring you to face justice. It's only a matter of time.
