The Jalandhar Rural Police launched Operation Eagle-V which was executed from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM today and was conducted under the guidance of Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav. It included comprehensive searches of identified drug hotspots within the jurisdiction.
DIG Jalandhar Range Naveen Singla and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Jalandhar-Rural Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh led it which was, aimed to conduct thorough searches in areas known for drug activities. Advanced technology was deployed to enhance detection and seizure efforts.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar-Rural, Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh emphasized that the objective of Operation Eagle-V is to root out drug-related activities from Jalandhar and across Punjab. Police teams from all stations in Jalandhar Rural carried out detailed searches using advanced technological applications and tools, ensuring no suspicious activity went unnoticed.
Police teams actively engaged in cordoning off and searching targeted areas, scrutinizing individuals and vehicles, and leveraging the Vahan application to verify vehicle ownership.
The rigorous searches led to the identification and scrutiny of several suspicious individuals and activities. Vehicles were meticulously checked at prominent nakas, ensuring thorough inspections and verifications.
12 police parties (120 police personnel) were deputed, 40 checkpoints were established, and 12 hotspots were checked. The operation led to the inspection of 106 suspicious persons, the registration of 4 FIRs, and the arrest of 3 individuals. Notable recoveries included 4 grams of heroin, 305 tablets, stolen mobile phones, 27,000 ML of illicit liquor, and 30 KG of lahan.
