The Shahkot police have booked a mother-son duo for dowry harassment.
Investigating officer (IO) Jagtar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Sohit Gupta a resident of Shalimar Bagh -West Delhi and his mother Meenu Gupta.
Aashtha Gupta daughter of Kapil Dev a resident of Kartar Nagar Shahkot complained to the police that her husband and mother-in-law harassed her for bringing more and more dowry and mentally torched her beating her and throwing her out of her home.
IO said that a case under sections 406(breach of Trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused after an inquiry adding that the incident occurred in the past and case under IPC has been registered.
