The Nurmahal police have booked four villagers on the charge of attacking a Nation Highway (NH) contractor’s employee.

Investigating officer (IO) Bodh Raj said that the accused have been identified as Iqbal Singh,Jaskaran Singh residents of Fateh Pur village, Balvir Singh a resident of Nahal village, and Sohan Singh a resident of Kot Badal Kan village.

Munish Sharma resident of Mathura in UP and presently living at Talwann- Poadhrra Road complained to the police that he is working as a Lining Executive in the field of MKC (contractor of NH) and was going to attend his duty of work on NH on July 20 and learned that some people have stopped construction work in between Fateh Pur -Rame Wal villages and reached on the spot.

Sharma said the accused waylaid him attacked and seriously injured him and snatched his gold chain, money, and a mobile adding that the police reached the spot rescued and saved him and rushed him to Nurmahal Civil Hospital from where he was referred to Jalandhar Civil Hospital.

 

IO said a case under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt),126(2) (wrongful restraint) 324(4) (mischief), and 3(5) (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the B.N.S has been registered against the accused.
