Shahkot travel agent arrested for duping villager of Rs 23.70 Lakhs.

 

SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have arrested a travel agent  for duping a Shahkot villager of Rs.23..70  lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

 Deputy Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) Vijay Kanwar Pal, who is investigating this case, said that the accused had been identified said that the accused have been identified as Surinder Kumar Arora son of Krishan Lal a resident of Adarsha Nagar, Shahkot,

 

Paramjit Singh a resident of Narang Pur Hansi village had complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police that he paid Rs 23.70 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration to Canada, but he was given a fake visa and thus was cheated.

 

DSP said that a case under section 406 (breach of trust). 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of The Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act 2012 was registered against the accused and his wife and son
