A Shahkot villager committed suicide on Saturday.
The Investigating Officer (IO)Sarwann Singh said that the deceased has been identified as Jaspreet Singh alias Kalu son of Pal Singh, a Kotla Suraj Mall village resident.
Jaswinder Kaur mother of the deceased told the police that her son ended his life by strangulating himself
IO said that the police acting under section 194 of BNSS (-174 of the Cr. P C) on a statement from the mother of the deceased, handed over the body to the family after post-mortem.
A married man from Pasla village under the Nurmahal police station also committed suicide on Saturday.
Investigating officer Bodh Raj Singh that the deceased had been identified as Sukhwinder Pal son of Tarsem Lal.
Sukhdev Ranni wife of the deceased told the police that her husband committed suicide by hanging himself and said that the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
