NAKODAR
The Mehat Pur police have booked a father-son duo on the charge of cheating.
Investigating Officer (IO) Davinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Hardev Singh son of Janak Singh a resident of Aadramaan village and his son Kuljt Singh.
Baljit Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused, who is his father and brother, prepared fake documents of his 5.5 acres of land for transfer and got mutated land in their name by personating him and mortgaging land with a bank for a loan limit and thus cheating him.
IO said a case under sections 419(cheating by personation) and 420(cheating) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry adding that the incident occurred in the past for that reason case has been registered under the IPC.
