The Shahkot police have booked eleven persons on the charge of assaulting a villager.
Investigating officer (IO) and Masian police post-in-charge Kewal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Baljit Singh alias Saabi Pehalwan,Harman alias Hamu, and Kewal Singh alias Thela all residents of Malsian village and their eight unidentified accomplices.
Pardeep Singh a resident of Fakhru Wal village complained to the police that he was attending a meeting in Valmik Mandir in Pati Akal Pur Malsian village on June 25 night when the accused reached there and disturbed the meeting and attacked him with weapons and seriously injured and threatened him with dire consequences.
IO said a case under section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt).118(2), (voluntary causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) 351(2)(criminal intimidation ),191(3) (rioting being armed with deadly weapons y ) and 190 (every member of unlawful assembly ) of the B.N.S .has been registered against the accused.
