The Nakodar Sadar police have booked a Taran Tarn village resident on the charges of raping a woman and criminal intimidation.
Investigating Officer (IO) Sub Inspector Pardeep Kaur said that the accused has been identified as Gurwinder Singh son of Resham Singh a resident of Jaurra village under Sarhali police station, Taran Tarn district.
The victim complained to the police that the accused posted a story on social media with her photo with objectionable comments, threatened her to post her obscene photos on the internet, and forcibly established physical relations with her.
IO said a case under sections 376(rape) 506(criminal intimidation) of the IPC and section 66-E of the Information Technology Act has been registered against the accused adding that the incident occurred in the past and the case has been registered under sections of the IPC.
