The Shahkot police have arrested a man for dowry harassment
The investigating officer (IO) and Talwandi Sangherra police post-in-charge Buta Ram said that the accused has been identified as Jatinder Singh a resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Phagwara,
Monika wife of Jatinder Singh and a resident of Talwandi Sangherra village had complained to the police that her husband and mother-in-law harassed her for bringing more and more dowry and mentally torched her.
IO said that a case under section 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused.
