Deputy Commissioner reviews development projects, orders speedy completion




JALANDHAR

 Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today conducted a thorough review of various ongoing development projects in the city. He emphasized the need for concerned departments to expedite these projects to ensure their timely completion.

Among the key projects reviewed was the widening of the existing 66-foot road from Jalandhar Heights-II to Partapurta. This project, which includes the installation of streetlights and a five-year maintenance plan. Dr. Aggarwal stressed the importance of completing this project on schedule to enhance the infrastructure and ease traffic congestion in the area.

In addition, the Deputy Commissioner assessed several other roadworkses, including the maintenance of several roads for five years. Specific projects included the widening of the road from village Kadianwali to village Dhanal, a stretch of 1.84 kilometres, and the widening of the road from village Pholriwal to Kadianwal, covering 1.72 kilometres.

Dr. Aggarwal instructed officials from the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to expedite the shifting of electric poles and wires. This step is crucial for the timely completion of the road projects. He also directed the executing agencies to accelerate their work pace and ensure regular submission of progress reports.

The review meeting saw the participation of Chief Administrator JDA Amarpreet Kaur, along with officials from the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar, Jalandhar Improvement Trust, and the Urban Development Department. This joint meeting underscores the administration's efforts to remove bottlenecks, if any, to ensure timely completion of projects.
