The Lohian Khas police have booked five members of a family on the charges of assaulting a woman.
Investigating officer (IO) Major Singh said that the accused had been identified as Balwinder Singh a resident of Gatta Mundi Kasu village, his wife Sita Kaur, son Santokh Singh, daughter Jaswinder Kaur, and daughter-in-law Gurprit Kaur.
Shila Rani a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused waylaid and attacked her.
IO said a case under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt),126(2) (wrongful restrain)191(1) (rioting), and 191(3)(liability of a person for whose benefit riot is committed) of the B.N.S (-323,341,148 and 149 of the IPC) has been registered against the accused. IO said that a cross-case has been registered and booked Shila Rani, Lakhwinder Singh, and Paramjit Kaur
