The Nakodar City police have arrested a woman on the charge of stealing a gold chain and cash.
Investigating Officer (IO) Dilbag Singh said that the accused has been identified as Meena wife of Mukesh a resident of Bharat Pur district Rajasthan.
Rajinder Kumar a resident of Pathan Kot district complained to the police that he along with his wife came to pay their obeisance at Dera Baba Murad Shah on July 18. He said there was a rush, and the accused stole his wife's gold chain and purse by trickery adding that the purse contained Rs 700 and documents.
IO said a case under section 303(2) (punishment for theft ) of the B.N.S.(-379 IPC) has been registered against the accused.
