After nine years of struggle, Gag Dhagara village received money for auctioning its mining khud in 2015.
The Punjab Government on Tuesday placed payment records in the Punjab and Haryana High Court which was hearing an execution appeal filed by Gag Dhagara village seeking direction to the government to deposit the contract amount.
A bench of Justice G.S. Sandhawalia and Justice Ritu Tagore said in its order that state counsel has placed on record a pay order in favour of the applicant Gram Panchayat whereby a sum of Rs.1,48,15,757/ was issued on 03.07.2024.
The Court order said on instructions from Shri Khusminder (SDO), Junior Engineer cum-Mining Inspector, Bist Doab Sub-Division, Jalandhar, Additional Advocate General of Punjab Vivek Verma submitted that the applicants have received the amount. He further submits that a response to the Execution Application will be filed on or before the next date of hearing clarifying if there is any balance amount to be paid in pursuance of the assessment which had been made on 27.07.2016 in compliance with the order passed by the Co-ordinate Bench on 24.02.2016 The court said needful to be done on or before the next date of hearing that is November 5, 2024.
