Faridkot

About 1970 police personnels, from the rank of the inspectors to constables are going to be transferred on the basis of inter- district,intra-district and intra-range, even the out of range transfers are also on the cards.

This information was shared by Gursharan Singh Sandhu,IGP Faridkot range addressing the media persons here today.

He was accompanied by Harjeet Singh,SSP Faridkot.

“This is a pan state initiative by the state government and according to it, we are going to reshuffle about 1970 police personnels in Faridkot range from the rank of inspector to constable. The transfers are meant to break monotony in the force, bring in more efficiency, different work culture experience and enhancing capabilities of the force. We are transferring those police personnel who have been posted at police station, sub division and district for a long period of time. The transfers are going to be made inter -district, intra-district and intra-range,” said Gursharan Singh Sandhu,IGP Faridkot range today.

There are three districts in Faridkot range,Faridkot,Muktsar and Moga.

The IGP further said that in Bathinda range,  about 1700 police personnel are going to be transfered. Bathinda range has Bathinda and Mansa districts in it.

Even the transfers of Punjab home guards jawans are also included in it.

The prolonged stay of the police personnels allegedly lead to a nexus between the criminals and police employees.

The mass transfers of the police personnel are going to be made effective after the AAP government's recent debacle in parliamentary elections.

A few days back, the Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav also instructed the police employees to remain in office at a fixed time to redress public grievances.

The Bhagwant Mann led government, which had made tall claims to eradicate drugs in the state, have been criticised for its failure to curb the drugs in the state.

The reshuffle of the lower rank police employees, who have prolonged stays at some places, is a welcome move of the government and the police administration.

The senior police officers, including the SSPs get transferred in months or less than a year but lower rank employees stay posted at some places for years and years with little difference of some transfers.
